Do you know the story of squash and squeeze? We can all learn from it. The simple version is:
An old lady lives all by herself in a small-ish house. But she feels her house is too small and constantly complains about it. So she asks a wise man for advice. The wise man tells her to bring all her animals into her house, including a hen, goat, pig and cow. The lady cries for more help since her place gets too crowded. The wise man tells her to let out all the animals. Suddenly, she feels her house is enormous, and she happily live after that.
I always smile each time I read it to my boys. What an intelligent story!
A story tells us:
- We already have whatever we need;
- Complaining only puts us in the negative perspective and limits our creativity and productivity;
- Be grateful and enjoy whatever you’re doing!
Thank you, the wise man!
